With the new coronavirus, COVID-19,\nbecoming widespread, both state-owned and non-governmental organizations have\nreleased an extensive amount of data on the disease. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The amount of information published about\nthe virus in Iran is considerable to the extent that maybe only a few people\ncan claim they have not been informed about COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The public has a lot of information\non the disease, how the virus spreads and ways to prevent being infected, so\nmuch so that more than 94% of Iranian women are aware of the coronavirus\nsymptoms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following data has been gathered\nby the dnaunion subsidiary emrc via an online survey carried out in March in\norder to evaluate the amount of public awareness on different aspects of the\nvirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Respondents were 1,256 women of\ndifferent age groups living in cities across the country. Respondents were aged\nbetween 15 to 71 with their average age being 26.5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Impacts on Life<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Almost all respondents were aware of\nhow the virus spreads. Overall, 8 out of 10 respondents were well aware of how\nto avoid contracting the disease and 2 out of 10 mistakenly believed that\nantibiotics can be used to prevent contagion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Moreover, the figures show that the\nday-to-day lives of 3 out of 10 respondents have been totally disrupted and 6\nout of 10 have said that their daily routines, including exercise, meeting with\nfriends and outdoor activities, have been negatively impacted by the outbreak\nof the coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Also, 4 out of 10 respondents feel\ndeeply concerned over the current crisis and 4 are relatively concerned.\nRespondents in the age group of 20 to 34 were the most concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When the Pandemic Ends?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To date, no national or\ninternational organization has spoken of a definite time when the coronavirus\ncrisis will end, but the speculations made in this respect have reached the\ngeneral public and each group has formed estimations in this respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Around half of the participants in\nthis survey estimated that the crisis will come to an end within less than\nthree months and 30% said it will take between 3 to 6 months. Respondents\nbetween the ages of 30 to 34 were the most optimistic as 62% of them said the\ncrisis will be done in less than three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Public Concern<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n People concerned about and influenced\nby the coronavirus crisis can be divided into the three following groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Highly concerned and influenced\nindividuals: Around 16% of the respondents are placed in this group, 15% of\nwhich made no estimation of time they think the crisis will be over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Relatively concerned and influenced\nindividuals: Around 62% of the respondents belong to this group, a third of\nwhich estimated that the COVID 19 crisis will probably be over within 3 to 6\nmonths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n -Less concerned and influenced\nindividuals: Around 22% of the respondents went into this group, 65% of which\nestimated for the crisis to come to an end within less than 3 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the whole, emrc conducted this\nsurvey in alignment with the main responsibility it takes upon itself, which is\nto increase the information businesses have of potential clients\u2019 viewpoints.\nThe emrc has made the abovementioned data available to various businesses in\norder to help them make wiser data-driven decisions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" With the new coronavirus, COVID-19, becoming widespread, both state-owned and non-governmental organizations have released an extensive amount of data on the disease. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":5036,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[240,4,114,3,604],"tags":[2287,11,1410],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
