NAOS Celebrates National Doctors Day by Empowering Students

Every year, NAOS celebrated national doctors’ day by sending gifts to Iranian physicians. This year, considering the economic headwinds Iran is facing and with help from dnaunion’s Eshareh, the funds that would have been spent on celebrations were funneled towards empowering less well-off students.
A campaign was devised by Eshareh, as per which, the money that would have been used for buying presents for Iranian physicians was gifted to less-well-off students in the form of shopping cards which could be used for buying stationery products.
NAOS is a French company with three brands, namely Bioderma, Institut Esthederm, and Etat Pur.
Mina Vatandoust, a marketing manager at NAOS, says the recent campaign was in line with NAOS’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and was vastly welcomed by doctors.
She noted that in association with Fight Against Hunger the company has launched a project in India dubbed NAOS Village. It aims to fight against malnutrition, and more specifically the prevention, detection, and treatment of acute under-nutrition of children below the age of five.
According to Vatandoust, “Considering our company’s long-standing presence in Iran, and in line with our global policies, we decided to launch a new corporate social responsibility program in Iran.”
Considering the recent economic headwinds Iran is facing “launching such programs has been put high on our agenda,” she added.
During the campaign, hundreds of doctors received packages from NAOS which included two letters. In one, the campaign’s purpose was described in detail and the second was a letter addressed to Iranian students. The doctors could sign the latter and return it to NAOS to be sent to one of the students.
Vatandoust says, “In many cases, the physicians added handwritten notes to the letters, personally addressing the students with inspiring words of encouragement.”
She concluded by saying that 2,000 letters were signed by the doctors.
The project’s manager, Kasra Saberi from Eshareh, says “Considering the globally acclaimed social responsibility programs set up by NAOS around the world, we suggested that a similar project should be launched in Iran on occasion of national doctors’ day.”
Creative director at Eshareh, Naghme Flor Zabihi says a local NGO, the Child Foundation helped NAOS in carrying out the campaign.
She notes, “The logo of NAOS looks like a yellow spinning top. When we were sending the letters to the doctors we put pencils in the packages that were adorned with small yellow spinning tops. We hope that these pencils would serve as a memento of the campaign for the physicians.”
“Furthermore, an event was held in a school in working quarters of Tehran, where a group of less well-off students made a huge spinning top,” she adds.
One of the event’s managers Aida Sharaf says that the event was filmed in the form of a documentary. The video has been published by NAOS on Instagram. Many of the doctors participating in the campaign have also reposted the video on social media platforms.
